Lighting Terminology Completed
1. Available Light- the ambient light that is already present (natural light- sunlight)
2. Artificial Light- any light the photographer adds to a shoot
3. Color Temperature, Kelvin Scale, K- the color of light
indoor - tungsten 3200 outdoor - daylight 5800
4. Light Modifier- anything the photographer puts between the light source and the subject
5. Reflector- used to modify natural light
6. Electronic Flash, Strobe- on camera flash
7. Fill Light- used to brighten shadow areas
8.Hard Light/ Hard shadow- direct light, shadow has hard line
9. Diffuse Light (North light)/Diffuse shadow --indirect light, (or light with modifier) shadow has soft line
10.Monolight- light that has one power source
11. Flare/ Lens Flare- light reflected into camera
12.Glare- light reflecting of subject or surfaces near subject
13. One light Setup- uses only one light
